November a Month to Remember…My last 6 buys
The New Norm: Buy high! Sell higher! is a sediment echoed throughout trading communities such as Robinhood, Webull, Schwab, TD Ameritrade and Revolut. As stock valuations sky rocket and companies aggressively move to acquire cheap monies to line their war chests a fleeting thought occurs….. Do I want to be in the game or sitting on the sidelines in cash as others prosper? What is one to do?
Over the past two months I have repositioned my portfolio taking advantage of volatility and market opportunities by adding to core holdings DocuSign (DOCU), Unity Software (U) and Magnite (MGNI) while initiating new positions in Marvel Technology (MRVL), Slack Technologies (WORK) and Fulgent Genetics (FLGT).
Last 3 Trades
Marvell (MRVL: $45.11) – flies under the Wall Street radar as a global semiconductor provider of analog, digital and embedded microprocessor integrated circuits. Two most notable acquisitions: Inphi ($10 Billion 10/20) and Cavium ($6 Billion 7/18).
Slack Technologies (WORK: $40.67) - software platform that brings people, applications, and data together. Slack is experiencing tremendous growth and has excellent partnerships.
Fulgent Genetics (FLGT: $40.63) - provides genetic testing services to physicians as it primarily serves hospitals and medical institutions. Fulgent Genetics technology platform integrates data comparison, algorithms, learning software, and genetic diagnostics tools.
Making room for tomorrow’s stock disruptors means clearing cap space so new companies may shine. I had to grant free agency to Fortinet, Nvidia, Teladoc Health, Guardant Health and Adaptive Biotechnologies. When building your portfolio carefully measure the risk and reward you are willing to take. A smart strategy to consider is establishing diversified equity positions over time, and be true to your personal investment philosophy. Keep an investment journal and critique your buys and sells. Most importantly, “Its time in the market not timing the market!”
