Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is an American multinational chip and graphics card creator located in Santa Clara California.  Recently, there has been a lot of excitement with the release of the highly anticipated 2nd Generation Ryzan Processor.  According to AMD the Ryzen processor lineup offers the world's highest multi-threaded performance desktop processors in its class.

Just a day after Advanced Micro Devices won ‘Company of the Year’ at the esteemed PCR Awards 2018 in London, UK, it was announced that Dell launched the AMD Ryzen Based Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 convertible Laptop/Notebook.  This recent news along with a very strong earnings season has caused a rise in the stock price from $9.36 on April 4th, 2018 to $11.04 at the close on April 17, 2018.

Can this sudden rise in stock price be a forecast of good things to come???  Only time will tell, however, the outlook is much better now than it was in the not so distant past when Intel (INTC) and Nvidia (NVDA) were the only two chip-makers mentioned in this space.  AMD will try to steal some market-space and once again be a major player in the industry.
